Morning all , hope everybody has a good Friday and an enjoyable weekend . Im enjoying the calm before the storm , literally . Were supposed to have bad storms blowing into Illinois later today and tonite . As well , Im done with my training for now . I start work Monday up by Joliet at the Mobil refinery . If anybody is in the area this weekend , drop me a line . Weather permitting , we'll be havin' a hog roast tomorrow , then Im fishing a tournament Sunday evening .

Good evening all , hope your week is going well so far . I have been busy scheduling work , fall hunt trips , vacation , and fall guiding schedule . Looking into an August bear hunt in Washington that will also serve as a family vacation . If all works out , it will be another great experience for myself , my father , and my sonto spend some time in the woods together . Ill post details on the site as available .
I made my way to northern Illinois today . Got up early and packed my stuff for work . Went by the school to have lunch with my son before I left town . Drove all afternoon but had a safe , uneventful trip . Work begins tomorow .

Good morning all , had an eventful afternoon yesterday . We had storms move in the area mid day . Yet again , for the 3rd year in a row , we lost part of our roof . The wind jst rips shingles off ad scatters them accordingly . We werent the only one , my neighbr lost the roof off of his shed and the wind scattered his patio furniture and grill . Other then that , the day went pretty well . I worked on another article for www.heartlandhunters.com , it will be for the summer issue of the newsletter . Take a look at the site if you havent already to catch my spring article . Ive been makin plans to return to work this next week . Tryin to keep myself busy to help me deal with the loss of my mother . Things are gettin better daily . Still sit and wait for her daily phone call though . I think that will take awhile .

Hope to make it out the start of the week if the weather breaks and before I have to head up north for work . Had a surprise visit from my cousin Jason yesterday evening . Always good to see him , he is passing through for a short bit . Not often him or any of his family gets here from Alaska . Had a good morning in the woods yesterday . I didnt get a bird , but I did manage to call in a couple hens and had 2 long beards hang up . One on an adjacent ridge about 80 yards out and another in the wet water creek bed about 60 yards out . This morning started nice , no wind and the ground was damp from an overnite rain . As the morning progressed , the clouds got darker , the thunder started , and the flood gates opened . The weather man is calling for rain today and tomorow with the possibility of strong to severe storms . We'll see if I get back out or not . Better luck next time ...

Good morning , Opening day for spring turkey here in Missouri . Good luck to all those either in the woods or planning on making it there . My season has been put on hold for a bit . I will be heading out this week to do a little hunting and spend some time reflecting on family and friends . I would urge everyone , pick up the phone and call your family and friends . Let them know how special they are to you and convey to them the special place they hld in your heart . Take care and Good Luck

Good morning to all ,
First I would like to say 'Thank You' for all the heartfelt well wishes and prayers for my family over the last few days . Death of an immediate family member is never easy . Especially if a grieving period is marred with selfish and rude people . The last few days have been hard , Im sure things will be for awhile with the help and support of friends and family . I have done my best to tend to my mother as best I can while dealing with conflict / disrespect at every turn . Today is my mothers memorial , she would be proud to know just how thoughtful people can be and how many hearts / lifes her son has touched . Many people knew her as 'Ma' , some as 'Helen' , and to a cherrished few , she was 'Geemo' . She was very loved , very respected , and will me missed .
I thank those that have helped and been so considerate .

Good morning to all , I hope you are enjoying the nice weather . First , I want to congratulate Shelby on his turkey . He took his bird yesterday morning ( opening morning for youth ) around 8 am . He was nominated for the Disabled Youth Hunt this year through the Rogersville Strutters chapter . He was very excited and proud , as he should be . His bird weighed in at 21lbs , had a 9 1/2" beard and 3/4 " spurs . Good work Shelby . We were all glad to be part of it .

Had a good time as well as a good trip to Oklahoma . We were hunting and staying with www.nomercyhunting.com . Had fun with old friends and got the family involved . We did see alot of birds , however I didnt fill my tags . Between the weather and me not being able to close the distance with my recurve , it was tough to say the least . I did bring home some groceries though in the form of pork . I managed to get a hog while we were in between turkey hunts .

there has been some delay in my post's due to computer problem while I was in Nebraska. I have returned home and will try to resolve any issues.
I am relaxing at home and enjoying spring break with all my children.
