Way to go ‘Smoke’ ,

Tony Stewart walks away with the win today of the Nascar Auto Club 400 in Fontana , California . Im sure its not the way the drivers wanted to end the race, but a win is a win. Tony moved up 3 spots on the leaders board with points. Rain called the race and put it to an early finish.

Me and my son spent some time on the property today. We put down some seed for a couple few small food plots in prime locations. As well we checked the feeders and started making a plan for the upcoming Youth Spring Turkey Season here in Missouri. I will be hunting my son the 31st/1st on our property.

I do believe I will be picking up a new feeder this week from Bass Pro. I have 2 on my property now, however they are home made gravity feeders. I am wanting to set up a permanent feeder in a remote location that I don’t have to tend to so often. I am also looking at putting up 1, if not 2, permanent elevated blinds. Ill keep you posted as to my decision.

I hope you all had a great weekend as it winds to an end. Be safe and prepare to start the new week out right tomorrow.

Welcome to Wednesday,

I hope everybody’s week is going well thus far.

I am home and busy working out hunt details/dates for a couple more possible spring turkey hunts out of state. Along with that, I am getting my gear ready for my son and myself for his youth weekend hunt the 31st/1st.

I am hoping he will show up the ol’ man that weekend.

Updates have been made to the Spur Chaser Store, as the new hats , beanies , and calls were added. Be sure to take a look at the website … www.spurchaser.com , they’re all located in the store.

Good morning all and welcome to the new week,

‘Congrats’ goes out to Brad Keselowski on his NASCAR race win yesterday. I was unable to watch the race as I was in the turkey woods.

Today I travel home to spend some time with the family and prepare for the next hunt.

Im not very hungry this morning as I get to ‘eat’ my tags for Florida Osceola. I didn’t have any luck in the woods. I did see a few birds and had them talking. I just couldn’t get the gobblers to separate from the hen’s and travel within shooting distance. At any rate, I did have a good time and enjoyed the hunt.

Have a good day all and enjoy your week. I am relaxing at the Orlando / Sanford Airport before my departure home.

Good evening all and welcome to the weekend,

I guess I should say ‘Happy St. Patty’s Day’ …

Ill say it now as I don’t know when Ill be able to post again in the next few days … lol

As most of you know , I have been in central Florida gearing up for the Osceola Spring Turkey Season. ( It starts tomorrow morning )

Im running on 2 1/2 hours of sleep in the last 48 hours. It has been a very busy / hectic trip. Ive been trying to keep pictures and video current via all the social media sites for all to see.

This evening we went out and did a little scouting for the season opener tomorrow. I seen a few pigs in the swamp land feeding, as well as a lone turkey. I called in the ‘Tom’ , not once but twice. The first time he was about 80 yards out and I managed to get him within 20 yards. The second time , he had disappeared and reappeared at about 60 yards along a brush line. I called him in again to within 30 yards. I have to say I am pleased with the new Spur Chaser line of Turkey Pot Calls. Tomorrow we shall see if I can close the deal on a Osceola before my hunt ends and I return home.

Keep an eye out for pic’s and video, I am trying to keep you all current on my happenings as the trip progresses.

Enjoy your weekend and be safe… ‘Good Luck’ if you will be in the turkey woods as well. I wish you all the best.

Evening all,

quick update from sunny Florida. Be sure to check Youtube ( Spurchasertv ) for video updates throughout my trip. A lot of great things going on.

Spent the morning riding around the swamp just check’n out the gators. Were getting ready to head out this evening for a few hours of bow fishing , then later tonight we will be doing some hog hunting with dogs off the airboat. Should prove to be an interesting evening / night.

airboatpic

Ill post video on YouTube as I can over the next few days.

Tomorrow Ill be out scouting and getting ready for spring turkey season opener on Saturday. I've already got my tags and license and am ready to go. We have a few hunting spot ready. I'm hoping for a good Osceola gobbler while I'm here.

Wednesday, March 14, 2012

Afternoon all,

Im sitting at the Springfield/Branson airport. Ive got my bag’s checked and my boarding pass in hand. I should be arriving in Orlando around 6pm Florida time.

Im looking forward to my hunting adventures with David Watson of Camp David Hunt Club.

David offers a wide array of outdoor activities to suit the whole family. From airboat rides through the everglades, turkey hunting in the spring and alligator hunting late summer to early fall. Be sure to take a look at his website for info or to plan your next trip. Be sure to tell him I sent ya.

Ill be posting pic’s as available, as well as maintaining my Facebook pages and Twitter alike. Keep an eye out for short video clips on Youtube.

Enjoy the rest of your week.

Good Morning all,

I hope this finds you well.

I've started to see some pictures of successful turkey hunts already. I wanted to mention another hunter in the woods that we all need to be aware of before heading out in search of a gobbler. With the recent rains and the warmer temps, Morel mushrooms are starting to pop up throughout the woods. The morel is a favorite amongst many people this time of year. Although there query and methods may not be the same as yours, we do share the woods with mushroom hunters.

Be vigilante while your hunting, be aware of your surroundings and what is beyond your shot. It only takes a second to glance beyond that big ol’ Tom.

Enjoy your day folks, be safe , and ‘Good Luck’ in the woods this season. Rather your hunting for turkey, coyote, or fungus.

Good morning my friends and welcome to the start of a fresh new week.

Be sure to start it on the right foot and in a good way.

‘Congratulations’ to Tony Stewart and the rest of the StewartHaas Racing Team for his win in the Las Vegas NASCAR Race yesterday. Teammate Ryan Newman did well placing in the top 5.

Speaking of racing,

Be looking for Driver/Owner Ritchie Keller and the rest of the Spur Chaser Racing Team in Moab, Utah April 7th/8th. Ritchie will be racing the Spur Chaser Buggy in the Dirt Riot Race. This race is run in conjunction with one of the biggest Jeep Jamboree events planned.

Ill be posting updates soon from sunny Florida. I travel south this Wednesday in hopes of harvesting an Osceola turkey and a wild pig or two.

Be looking for pictures and updates via Youtube as well.

Sunday, March 11, 2012

Good morning all and welcome to Sunday,

With rain in the forecast, we don’t have a lot of plans for today.

Ill be watching the NASCAR race on TV and that is about the extent of my day. They are racing in Las Vegas this week. ‘Congrat’s’ to Kasey Kahne for setting a new track record, and winning the pole position for todays race.

Im slowly finishing up my packing for the upcoming hunting trip to Florida. I am truly excited to be starting my spring turkey season in the Sunshine State.

Have a great day and enjoy.

Saturday, March 10, 2012

Good morning my friends,

‘Happy Birthday’ goes out to fellow Commando Pro Staff Member , Daryle Singletary.

I hope everybody had a wonderful week and is looking forward to a great weekend as well.

I am thinking about making a trip to the woods today. Do a little scouting for some turkey and take care of the feeders. Might even put up a trail cam while I am there.

Who knows, I might get lucky and find a shed or two.

Don’t forget about Daylight Savings Time , adjust your clocks forward one hour tonight before heading off to count sheep.

Thursday, March 8, 2012

Afternoon my friends,

Well the weather has changed a bit here in the Ozarks in the past 24 hours. We have dropped form the mid 60’s all the way down to the low 30’s. With rain moving in yesterday evening and rain and sleet today. Not making a good impression for us spring turkey hunters. Fortunately, season doesn’t start here for another few weeks.

This time next week however, I will be in Florida hunting near the Space Coast.

I'm currently waiting on a couple phone calls back from Rep’s with 2 bow company’s to help me clarify my decision on a new bow. Hope to hear something soon …

Enjoy the rest of your week …

Friday, March 2, 2012

Good evening all and Happy Friday, …

I hope your week went well and you made the most of it . Now it is time to relax for most people and enjoy the weekend .

Our thoughts go out to all those that have been stricken by the devastating storms across the country as Mother Nature unleashes her fury on a premature spring storm season . There have been a good amount of tornadoes already reported along with a lot of deaths to add to the grim aftermath .

Speaking of death , a sore subject in any manner ,

I would like to extend my deepest sympathy and heartfelt remorse to a close personal friend , Terry Huffman . His father passed away this past week and was laid to rest . I didn’t personally know his father , but from my experience , to raise a son in the manner that Terry was brought up , says a lot for his parents and his upbringing . Our thoughts are with the family .

I received a package in the mail today …

50caltreestand

It was the base , rings and scope for my Traditions Pursuit LT .50 cal muzzle loader . They arrived in Mossy Oak Treestand pattern to match the gun . I already got them mounted and am looking forward to spending some time at the firing range sighting the scope in .

Enjoy your evening all , and have a great weekend , be safe .
