Good morning all ,
Its turning out to be a gorgeous day today with temps rising and the sun shining.
Wishing everybody a wonderful week and safe travels if your on the roads for the weekend of festivities.
Be looking for updates coming soon for a new venture I am embarking on in the outdoors industry. Contract talks and negotiations have stalled and I have decided to pursue another avenue more suited to my style and ambitions. Updates will be posted soon.

Not a lot to report.

The snow is melting and the weather has turned warmer here in North Carolina. No luck as of yet bear hunting. Did see a nice buck yesterday, however deer season has ended here. A lot of fresh sign today, however no bear movement before the darkness fell.

Ill be heading to Houston soon. Looking forward to the warmer weather.

Good morning all , I hope everyone had a wonderful Xmas. I wanted to share a pic , this is taken off the back deck over looking the lake. You can see the fresh snow we picked up yesterday ( Christmas day ) . Enjoy your holiday break.

 

We are preparing for our bear hunt Monday/Tuesday in the mountains of North Carolina. Wish us luck , hopefully some good stories and photos to follow.

Good morning and Merry Xmas all , I hope the holiday season finds you well . As we wrap up the year I wish everyone the best for the new year upon us . Be safe and make the most of what is in front of you .

Woo hoo , off work early and North Carolina bound .
I hope everybody has a wonderful and safe holiday season . I'm hoping for good weather as well as a little luck on the bear hunt .
I did manage to finalize the arrangements for a buffalo hunt in March . My uncle will be joining me as we try our hand at a couple buffalo , some hog hunting and possibly a trophy ram . We will be hunting in Oklahoma at the SSS-Ranch . www.sss-ranch.com . Be sure to check them out the next time your looking for an awesome adventure . As the weather man had predicted , the snow is falling . Expected to get 3-5” tonight followed by some sleet or freezing rain in the morning . Temps have warmed up today allowing the snow.

Still working on details for a March buffalo hunt in Oklahoma.

Happy Holidays …

     I hope everyone is enjoying the weekend so far . I spent the day visiting local family and friends to the Chicago land area , as well as meeting more family up around the Gurnee area tomorrow . I have been waiting patiently as the Xmas holiday is fast approaching as well as my trip to North Carolina. Started making plans today for a buffalo hunt in March. Hoping to squeeze the hunt in between the February expos and April turkey season.

     The weather was pretty nice today , sunny with a chill to the air. I do believe the weather man is still calling for another storm front to move into the area Monday into Tuesday leaving behind several inches of fresh snow.

     Stay warm folks , and get out and getcha some. Good luck in the woods.

Good evening , I hope everybody is staying warm . The weather has been delivering a one two punch throughout the Midwest for the last few weeks . Now it is slowly reaching out and touching farther parts of the country . I woke up to a fresh couple inches of snow here in Illinois . The temps did rise a bit but not for long . With the fresh snow and warmer temps it was a gorgeous morning to be in a tree stand . It took awhile to talk myself into going to work today. The weather man is calling for more snow here within the next few days thru Tuesday next week . Hopefully we wont get too much as I will be heading out to North Carolina on Wednesday evening . Ive been making plans for the trip and lining up details for purchasing my tags and planning the bear hunt. Good luck to everyone taking to the woods and happy holidays.

Good evening all , I hope everybody had a safe and productive weekend .
Id like to take a minute to wish the best to D.R. Harrison of Antler Addiction . He was recently involved in a vehicle accident . I am assured he is doin fine and will be 100% in no time .
Along the lines of Antler Addiction , a big congrats to them and Break-n-Dawn Outdoors for teaming up to share there interests on the Pursuit Channel .
I have moved from one job site to another in Illinois . Ive left the south Chicago location and am now working down by Joliet starting tomorrow . A week and a half and I will be taking a break from work to 'feed my addiction' as I head to North Carolina in search of black bear .
My schedule is filling up quickly for the month of February as expo's and banquets start firing up before spring Turkey season .
Look for me in southern Texas in January for a couple weeks worth of work as well as back in Illinois for a Ducks Unlimited Banquet .
While I'm in Texas I will be working on some charity events with Cody Rosier and his band .

Good evening all , a short note for the middle of the week . Updates remain the same . Ive booked my room for the NWTF Convention in Nashville , hope to see you there . Im still working on upcoming articles . A little slow goin since I am working currently . I hope everybody is having a great hunting season . The time has come to prepare for muzzleloader ( black powder ) season across the country . If I wasnt working I would be breaking out the ol' T/C Encore with the smoke pole barrel and heading to the woods . Good luck to all those heading out .

Good evening all , chilly one at that here in Illinois . Been busy making plans for the holidays , work , and of course upcoming hunting expos/banquets/hunts/shows . Here is a current update ( as it stands now ) ... Illinois till the holidays , then travelling to North Carolina for family time and atleast 1 if not 2 bear hunts , after the New Year I will be heading to Texas for a few weeks working , February is full of NWTF banquets , Hunting expos , and of course the NWTF Convention in Nashville , March I am hoping to possibly make it to Utah for a buffalo hunt . Good evening all , I hope everyone is having an enjoyable weekend . Im still in northern Illinois working . Had a nice winter treat this morning waking up to several inches of snow . Flurries have been coming down most of the day due to the lake affect snow showers . Work is going well and keeping me busy . Hunters in this area should have had a good morning . I would have loved to have been in a treestand hunting today .

Good evening all , sorry I haven't posted in a few days . Been busy with work and dealing with travel plans , contract issues , hunting trip plans etc. Been cold here in the Chicago area . We had snow yesterday evening late through lunchtime today . No real accumulation though . Temps are extremely cold with the wind . Thankfully I'm working inside . Making plans for a couple bear hunts over the Xmas break . As well as a possible late season archery hunt in Oklahoma . I was hoping to have current info and updates on my contract negotiations by now , all I can say is 'soon to come' . I am hoping by Christmas . Ill post as soon as I work out the details . Happy Sunday all , I hope everyone enjoyed the holiday weekend . Good time with friends and family is always enjoyable and full of memories . I wish safe travels to all those taking to the highways today to venture home . It is back to work tomorrow for many , I had o work on Friday for awhile . I didn't mind though , being out of town I had nothing better to do . I didnt bring any hunting gear with me to Illinois this trip . Weather is getting colder here . Good evening all , Hope everyone is fairing well with the crazy November storms passing through the Midwest . We had rain here in Illinois this afternoon and evening with gusty winds . Colder temps to move in tonight and hang around for a few days . Work went well today , sorry to see my hunting season come to an abrupt end ..but work is work . I do still have plans for 2 bear hunts this winter in North Carolina and a possible deer hunt in Oklahoma when I can find the time . Contract talks are still on going , but were getting closer .

Good Sunday morning to everyone , I hope you are all making the best of your weekend . I hunted yesterday morning for a bit . Mainly did some scouting with my son on foot . We brought my Gorilla climber and blind out of the woods . We did find some fresh rubs and a new scrape . We hunted this morning but only for a couple hours . Had to cut the hunt short for church . Haven't been seeing to much movement during daylight hours . Only heard 3 gun shots in the distance today . Our gun season ends here in Missouri on Tuesday . The rut is pretty much in full swing here by the sign . Good luck to those either still in the woods or those taking to the woods . I'm working on a new article for www.heartlandhunters.com . It should be in the January newsletter . Also look for updates about my contract talks . Foggy morning in the Ozarks ... I didn't take to the woods this morning and have no plans to this afternoon . With our rifle season coming to an end the 23rd ( next Tuesday ) , the deer have been pressured and are moving mainly in the dark hours of night . I am taking to my blind in the morning for a hunt with my son .
Ive been busy working on contract details with a couple of up-n-coming players in the outdoors industry world of TV shows . Look for updates coming soon on the info of my new ventures . All parties are excited about the new year and what it holds for our ventures together . Be safe today and enjoy your weekend .

What happened ??? Havent been seein much for movement the last few days . Been hunting both mornings and evenings , even throughout the middle of the day . Seems like the deer just went into lock down mode . Its been really wet here the last few days . Alot of rain , damp , windy conditions . Ill try again tomorrow and hope for better results . We have seen some bucks cruisin' and normal activity from the does . Alot of turkey moving around .

What a morning , we only seen 1 deer this morning . It was drizzling when we headed to the blind at 5 am . The rain continued and got pretty steady at daybreak . After the weather had cleared , we seen a nice bruiser of a buck hot the trail with his head down and he was on a mission . He was out about 160 yards in some thick cover . I couldn't get him to stop for a shot . I did finally get his attention and managed to get a couple grunts out of him . I'm planning on hitting the woods again early tomorrow . Hopefully Ill have better luck with the wind and weather .

Monday morning , a new week is upon us already . Lets make the best of it . Hopefully those that took to the woods over the weekend were succesful . Me , my dad and my son had a good weekend in the field together . Dad made a nice shot on a deer Saturday morning . We had a nice BBQ with backstraps yesterday afternoon . We are changing our hunting technique today and going out in the afternoon . Going to try to hunt on foot and push further back on the property today / tomorrow . I hope everybody who was travelling had safe travells . Im still working on contract details as well as a couple other irons in the fire . As I get details I will post updates . Good afternoon , I hope everybody had a productive ad successful weekend . Alot of folks will be travelling home this evening and tonight to return to a normal routine tomorrow . I hope you faired well on your hunting trips , travel safe . As for us , our second morning in the blind wasn't as successful as our first . We did see alot of deer , mainly young doe's , yearlings and fawns from the blind . Seen several larger deer and a buck cruising while travelling to and from the property . My father didn't shoot today , however I missed at first light . We searched but found no blood or hair so I'm confident it was a clear miss . We did walk the woods to search just in case . This afternoon we are having a BBQ with back straps from yesterdays reward . Tomorrow we are heading out early afternoon to change our setup with the changing winds and weather . Deer down ... my dad had a successful morning , made a nice 97 yard shot ( courtesy of the Leupold RX750 ) at 7:30 am . We were in / out of the woods , back home and cleaning his deer by 9 am . So the count is ... 1 down , 3 to go . 'Good Luck' to everyone else hunting this weekend .

'Good morning' and 'Happy Friday' to everyone . The weather is a little damp with sprinkles today . Slight chance of scattered showers and thunderstorms this afternoon into the evening . The cold front should push in overnite with cooler temps for tomorrow . With the weather change , should be good hunting for tomorrows season opener here in Missouri . And so the clouds begin to push in ... Rifle season opens here in Missouri this Saturday the 13th . The temp have been inthe low 70's for the past few days . The weather man is calling for a chance of rain this evening/overnite with possible thunderstorms tomorrow and Friday . With the rain departing the end of the week , a cold front is due to push in and settle by Saturday . Temps will fall to around the mid 50's during the day time hours and in the 30's overnite . 'Good luck' to those taking to the woods . I am expecting my father in town tomorrow afternoon . We will be hunting come sun up Saturday morning . Enjoy all ...

Good morning to all , and to all a good hunting season ...Seems like the deer are starting to move . Ive heard from a few friends around my area that have noticed some smaller bucks starting to chase . Ive had a couple buddies already put down respectable deer this season . With the upcoming weather chage again the end of this week , our opening day of rifle season should prove to be very productive for many taking to the woods . Im anxiously awaiting the arrival of my father this week for our hunt together with myself and my son . This week should prove to 'tell the tale' as far as the contract talks go . Spent the morning on the property setting up my Gorilla blind for next weekend opening day of rifle . Did a little scouting , and pulled the card on my Moultrie game cam . Good evening all , I should have some more pics off my trail cam tomorrow . I spent the day today with my inlaws at the National Guard Armory in Aurora , Missouri for family day with my wife . The kids enjoyed themselves and we all had a nice time . I am planning on heading out to the property tomorrow to check the moultrie cam and look for fresh sign . Our rifle season opens next Saturday on the 13th . Good morning , good morning , good morning .... Cold one out again this morning . Tep at 25 to start the day . I was up late and awake early , work out final details on the contract . I will have info to share soon . I havent been out in the woods for a few days but the reports Im getting are not good . The winds have been gusty here , not alot of deer bein seen throughout the day . Id like to congratulate Dave Green for his success on his elk hunt . He was the wounded warrior I sponsored through Hunters Helping Soldiers some time back . He finally made it out on his hunt and was succesful at taking a cow elk . You will be able to find a related article to his hunt soon in The Wounded Warrior e-zine .

Good morning and 'Happy Friday' ... enjoy the rest of your day today and make the most of your weekend . The weather has taken a drastic turn to the cooler side of things with temps bein inthe 30's at night and only up into the 40's during the day . With the cold winds out of the northwest here , temps this morning felt like they were in the 20's . The weather man is calling for a warming trend over the next week .
With all this cold weather the deer are starting to go nuts . Alot of movement as well as the rut getting into a start . 'Good Luck' to those taking to the woods this weekend . I am hoping to make it out for a bit at some point . We have alot going on here for the weekend and not quite sure what the weekend will hold for me as far as hunting time .
We are making final changes to my contract . Filling in the blanks , crossing the t's and dotting the i's . We should have final changes made in the next couple days and signed copy in my hand . Ill post updates as I can and they are available .

As I roll out of bed this morning , head fealing foggy and ears ringing still to the tune of 'Waffle House' , ... Colt Ford and the band put on one h#ll of a show last nite . If you were there - you know , if you werent - you should have been . It is definitely worth the effort to attend a show if you ever get a chance . Yes the rumors are true , I am in contract negotiations for a co-host position on a new outdoors show , soon to be airing on the Pursuit channel . Ill post more details as I can . Wow what a night , we had thunderstorms and wind all night . The rain carried over into this morning with it still being a little cloudy outside and chilly . Despite the wet weather this morning , I made a trip to the property to check the moultrie game cam . Had 73 pic's taken in the last 4 days . Alot of movement , still mostly at night but picking up during the day . Alot of good shooter size doe's along with a spike , a small basket rack 8 , a 6 , and a 5 point . Found a fresh rub inside of 8 yards of my gorilla greyback climber . Also found a scrape within shooting distance of one of my remington ladder stands . The cooler weather is starting to play a part in the deer movement and pushing them into the rut .

I have to mention it , dont want anyone to forget.... Colt Ford is on tour for his new album ' Chicken & Biscuits ' . He is playing in Springfield tomorrow night at Midnight Rodeo . Showtime is at 10:15 . If you get a chance you should stop in and check him out . His style of country hip/hop is like none other . Be sure to say 'Hello' if you make it to the show . Good morning , Im sure everyone had a wonderful weekend and holiday . With youth gun weekend and the holiday , everybody should have plenty of fond memories of time spent with loved ones . Dont forget to get out and vote this week . Make your vote count for our rights to enjoy the outdoors . In case you didnt know , the people spoke and the politicians listened here in Missouri . The state is starting a program to reintroduce elk to the natural habitat here in the state . It will be a small number at first in a designated area . Hopefully the herd will do well and spread throughout in the future . "HAPPY HALLOWEEN" ... Good morning all , early morning at that . I awoke early and took a ride through the country just to observe any movement . Alot of deer roaming the countryside before daybreak . Hopefully alot of young guns will fill there tags this weekend while hunting the youth portion of firearms season here in Missouri . Our rifle season runs November 13th thru November 23rd here . I will be hunting with my father and my children on our property here in Christian county Missouri . During that week , some of my friends from Hunters Helping Soldiers ( www.huntershelpingsoldiers.org ) will be hunting at Weaubleau Creek Outfitters ( www.weaubleaucreekoutfitters.com ) here in Missouri . Good afternoon all , had a pretty uneventful morning in the woods . Seen a few moving before daybreak , as well as a doe and her fawn roaming the ridgeline while I was on foot . I did find some fresh sign , a fw rubs and a couple scrapes . With the cooler temps , hings are really starting to get into the swing . It was chilly this morning . Cold enough that I dawned my Arctic Shield camo in Mossy Oak Treestand pattern . It did the trick early on , then as the temps rose , it was time to shed the thick stuff . Winds have picked up here this afternoon . Im thinkin Ill stay out of the woods for a bit and let them settle down . With the Halloween holiday tomorrow , I probably wont get out again until Monday . I heard a few scattered gun shots this morning . Im sure there are several happy kids who got there first deer today , opening day of youth season . I wish everybody the best of luck in the woods , and a Happy Halloween .

Getting short on time folks , the rut is already in swing in some areas of the country and working its way south/southwest . Im gettin my gear ready and will be heading out early in the a.m. . Im glad Ive got my Under Armour , lol . Temps have been dropping fast here in the midwest and continue to plummit at night . I wish you all god luck in the woods this weekend .
Here in Missouri this is our youth weekend for firearms . Should prove to be alot of memories made for fathers and there kids this weekend .

Good afternoon , a short update before the weekend begins . I spent a few hours on the property today scouting . Didnt see a whole lot of movement . Several 2+ year old does roaming the woods . Didnt see any pushing goin on yet and no real fresh sign of the rut other than last observed . I did pull the card on the camera again . I just pulled it 2 days ago so these are fresh/rescent pics . I cant tell the size of this buck , he's got his head down in the brush and is quartering away . I like the pic though . If you look and pay attention , notice how thick his neck is ... also , notice how dark in color his hocks are . Sure signs the rut is starting to get into swing here in the midwest . Along with the rubs and scrapes Ive found lately , things are looking up . Hopefully with this cold front that is moving through , things will pick up . Good luck to all heading out this weekend . Ill be spending some time in my Gorilla Greyback climber the next few days . I also got a pic of a bobcat strolling by at 2:30 in the afternoon yesterday . Ill post it in the next couple days .

Good evening all , just returned from the woods and wanted to post a short update . Starting to see a bit of sign leading to the rut . Few rubs here and there , along with scattered scrapes . Alot of tracks along the lanes and throughout the woods . The camera is still showing alot of movement through the night . I haven't seen alot the last couple afternoons that I have been out . Going to try a morning or two here the end of the week . Still getting some good pics though . Alot of turkey moving throughout the day . Rifle season is fast approaching as is the rut . Monday Monday Monday , a new week is upon us . Spent some time in the tree stand this weekend . Battled with the wind and rain some . Seen a bit of movement but no shooters in range . All that will change soon , with the weather forecast of cooler temps , the rut approaching , and in 19 days rifle season . I'm hoping to at least put a doe down with my bow before gun season starts here in Missouri . Opening weekend I will be hunting with my son and my father . Should make for some good memories for all of us . Ive loaded my climber in the truck for an afternoon hunt today . The wind has changed and I am going to try to relocate a bit to better situate myself along another travel lane . I hope everybody had a good weekend . Make the best of your new week .

Its FRIDAY .... Have a happy and safe weekend . Make it as productive as possible . I spent the morning in the woods today . With the full moon upon us the deer are moving alot through the nite . I was early in about an hour and a half before shooting light and I was spooking deer . Seen alot of movement after day break . Never had a good shot window on anything . I'm hoping for better results tomorrow morning . We have a storm front coming in this afternoon through the night . Rain is do to taper off in the morning . Im hoping to get some ground time in tomorrow with the ground being wet . It has been too dry lately to move around in the woods with all the fresh leaves falling do to the fall weather . I wish everyone luck headin' to the woods .

Howdy and Happy Hump Day ,
I spent the majority of the day Tuesday in the woods . I didnt see alot of movement in the morning , however , after the rain shower that afternoon the deer were out in full force . I had a shot on a smaller 6 point buck , however when I came to full-draw , I hit a branch with my bow and spooked him . He hung around for awhile but never presented another shot for me . Several smaller deer came in to within bow range but they were not what I was looking for . I did have 2 older does just inside the treeline that I would like to thin out of the herd . I ran out of shooting light before they presented a shot . Im letting the deer and the woods rest today . As I had a meeting this morning with the rest of the committee from Arc of the Ozarks . We are planning a hunting/fishing swap meet / expo for late February . I will post more info and updates as available and closer to the event . Good morning all , I hope everybody had a wonderful weekend . I still haven't heard of alot of deer falling yet from those that have been in the woods . A few nice bucks have been taken as well as a handful of does . The weather is cooling off and the leaves are starting to turn . Movement should be picking up and soon we should start to see signs of the Rut coming on . Rifle season here in Missouri is only several weeks away . We've seen alot of tracks on the property and have some nice pics of quality deer with good numbers . I'm hoping to get out this week to do some hunting . Hopefully Ill have pics to post soon . Good day , I have to apologize in the lack of posts lately . Ive felt a little under the weather and have been trying to get myself better . On with the news , Big Hunting / Fishing Expo in Branson this weekend with a buddy tournament , 3-d archery shoot , seminars , and lots of exhibits for grown ups and kids alike . Event runs Friday thru Sunday . I hope to see you there .

Good morning all , I hope everyone had a productive week and are looking forward to the weekend . I know I am . I spent the morning in the woods . I set up another stand this morning as well as checked for sign and pulled the card on my cam . Pics are still showing little movement . I do have a few nicer pics of quality deer though . Atleast now I can start to pattern movement better . Its nice being able to refer to the time stamped on pics so you an plan accordingly . Not only do game cameras provide you with date/time of movement , they also give you evidence of the animals in an area you are hunting or scouting . Have a good weekend all . Full moon and cooler temps . Most of the country this year has experienced above average temps . With hunting seasons opening across the country , alot of hunters are up in arms over heading to the woods . The temps have the deer moving at odd hours trying to stay cool and feed in the dark of the night . I do believe relief is on the way . With the full moon upon us , there is a cold front pushing through the midwest this week . This weather system is bringing rain to alot of the country as it passes through . The average temps throughout the central part of the country should drop by 10-15 degrees during the day and close to 20 degrees at night . For us working folks , that means we should see a fair amount of movement over the weekend . You may end up getting wet , and have to spend a few more hours than normal in the woods . However , for those that tough it out , success should follow . Be safe and good luck , hope to see you in the woods .

Good day all , I hope everyone had a safe and productive weekend . Temps have been in the mid to high 80's here in our neck of the woods . The weather man is calling for cooler temps and a possible rain shower for us later in the week and towards the weekend . Hopefully with the cooler temps and the full moon upon us , the deer will start moving a little better . Alot of folks in my area are seeing deer , however they are does and yearlings . Most of the movement has been in the middle of the day or early a.m. before shooting light . Congrats if you have already put one down , and if not , good luck .

Afternoon , hope all is well with everyone . I am at home relaxin with family and friends . Our archery season opened yesterday . I spent a couple hours out yesterday but didnt see anything . Spent more time setting up trail cams and scouting then I did hunting . Hopefully soon I will have some new trail cam pics to post . The weekend is fast approaching . For those who had asked in the past about Wapiti Creek in Washington ,
After having experienced and seen the outfitter first hand , I would not personally recommend them to anybody . I did only see one side of the business and experience one camp however , with that being said ...
Let me reiterate... I have not , do not , and will not partake in any type of unethical or illegal hunting habits . Job or no job , friend or foe , the answer from me is NO .
I am looking forward to our opening archery season starting tomorrow . As well while Im in the woods , Ill be hangin trail cams . Hopefully will have some good pics to post in the near future.

Happy Friday everyone , had a busy week . Actually worked 5 days this week , had alot of phone calls to deal with , but life is good . Ive started m planning for the Bass Pro Fall Hunting Classic , I will be in Bollingbrook , Illinois on August the 6th , more dates to come . They will include Portage , Indiana , possibly Gurnee , Illinois , Branson , Missouri , and Springfield , Missouri . I am relaxing this weekend with a family reunion on Saturday . My wife has returned home from her summer drill duty with the National Guard , as well I have all 3 kids with me . We are spending the weekend relaxing and enjoying the company of friends and family . Bass Pro Shops Fall Hunting Classic update :

Here is the skinny so far . I know the first big weekend is August 6th thru the 8th . I should be able to be found at the Bollingbrook , Illinois store as well as the Portage , Indiana store that weekend . I might make it up to Gurnee , Illinois the second weekend ( the 14th / 15th ) . The last weekend would be the 21st / 22nd . I will be in Branson , Missouri one day and in Springfield , Missouri the next . Exact dates and times arent available as of yet , but that is the itenerary . I hope to see a few of you there .

Monday is done , the week has started . Let's just grin/bear it , get it over with , and enjoy the upcoming weekend . I had a good evening yesterday . We fished a tournament in the afternoon till dusk . Caught 5 bass , 1 catfish , and 3 bluegill . Limit or the tournament was 3 keepers . We weighed in 3 nice fish and came in 3rd overall . Didnt get the 'Big fish' , but there is always next time . Had a good time , thats all that matters .

Good morning all , had an eventful afternoon yesterday . We had storms move in the area mid day . Yet again , for the 3rd year in a row , we lost part of our roof . The wind jst rips shingles off ad scatters them accordingly . We werent the only one , my neighbr lost the roof off of his shed and the wind scattered his patio furniture and grill . Other then that , the day went pretty well . I worked on another article for www.heartlandhunters.com , it will be for the summer issue of the newsletter . Had a good morning in the woods yesterday . I didnt get a bird , but I did manage to call in a couple hens and had 2 long beards hang up . One on an adjacent ridge about 80 yards out and another in the wet water creek bed about 60 yards out . This morning started nice , no wind and the ground was damp from an overnite rain . As the morning progressed , the clouds got darker , the thunder started , and the flood gates opened . The weather man is calling for rain today and tomorow with the possibility of strong to severe storms . We'll see if I get back out or not . Better luck next time ...

First I would like to say 'Thank You' for all the heartfelt well wishes and prayers for my family over the last few days . Death of an immediate family member is never easy . Especially if a grieving period is marred with selfish and rude people . The last few days have been hard , Im sure things will be for awhile with the help and support of friends and family . I have done my best to tend to my mother as best I can while dealing with conflict / disrespect at every turn . Today is my mothers memorial , she would be proud to know just how thoughtful people can be and how many hearts / lifes her son has touched . Many people knew her as 'Ma' , some as 'Helen' , and to a cherrished few , she was 'Geemo' . She was very loved , very respected , and will me missed .
I thank those that have helped and been so considerate .

I had a good weekend as I hope you did as well . Yesterday evening I was on Blogtalk radio online with 'Hunters Helping Soldiers' . Info is posted on my site for next weeks show .
