Good morning my Friends,
Welcome to Monday. Wishing you all the best as we begin the ventures of a new week.
As I sort through the news this morning, I was caught off guard by a story about Military Budget cuts, and the cancellation of Military Fly Overs and Air Shows. This goes far deeper then people think. The Military cancelled major Air Shows on Military Bases almost immediately. Not only does this effect the Military and the general public form the experience, It also effects the local community as well. Think of all the lost revenue to the local communities... Not to mention the experience of attending such an event.
I can remember as a youth, my parents taking me to the Major Air Show in Arizona. The gleam in my eye to see the Pilots in uniform standing beside there shiny flying machines. It made me dream and want to be a Pilot as I grew older. That may have been part of the influence for my decision to join the Military. I can remember meeting Pappy Boyington, a Highly Decorated Military Pilot and the Star of the 1070's show Baa Baa Black Sheep. Boyington has since passed away but my memory has not. I still have his autograph from the day I met him.
Cancelling shows of this extent will have a serious negative impact, in my eyes.
I can go on and on over my beliefs, we know there are problems in our Government. There is only one way to fix it, VOTE. You can call your local representatives as well as email them to express your concerns.
