Afternoon all ,

I hope everybody is having good luck in the woods and with any other outdoor activities you may be partaking in .

I have to let you all know , I am not happy about it nor proud , I did the unthinkable and left a wounded animal in the woods yesterday . I stuck a doe yesterday morning and searched for several hours on my own . I reviewed the video to check my shot placement . I was a little back and it looked like a stomach shot . I followed the blood trail for about 100 yards . The trail was phenomenal , I couldn’t believe she didn’t expire sooner . After no luck in locating her , I flagged last blood and returned home . I picked up a friend and he returned with me for several more hours of searching yesterday afternoon . We walked circles , we tried to grid out the area , nothing . I thought a fresh set of eyes might help me locate the blood trail or find her . We just couldn’t find anymore sign .

I'm not proud of it , and surely don’t like leaving a wounded animal . By reviewing the video and the amount of blood she had lost , there is no doubt in my mind that she expired . I just couldn’t locate her .

I have to feel confident in the fact that I tried to locate her and even summoned help in the venture .

I have put off my mule deer hunt in Washington until a further date . I am still however making the plans and arrangements for my archery antelope hunt in Oklahoma starting on October the first . Ill keep you all posted on the details of both hunts as time passes .

I am also looking into doing some hog hunting in Oklahoma with both rifle and bow . It should be a lot of fun with friends and provide some good video for future shows .

Enjoy your week all , make the best of it …
